Dice are used to generate random numbers during various games. All of our dice will be suitable for this purpose, and none will be able to be predicted or "gamed" to give specific results. So, in that sense, Wyrmwood dice can said to be balanced. However, this is a relative term, and different from the concept of perfect balance.
While the ideal for any random number generator is perfect balance, meaning absolutely no bias towards any particular result and an equal probability of all possible results, this ideal is rarely reached, even with software-based random number generators. Physical dice, likewise, are almost never perfectly balanced in this way, and Wyrmwood dice are no exception.
This is a challenge in environments like a casino, where high-stakes gambling is taking place. However, as most dice on the market are offered to hobbyists for games where fun is the goal, slightly imperfect balance is not a significant issue, unless a die is egregiously imbalanced (such as a "loaded die"). Any such die would, naturally, be considered defective.
You can expect our dice to give results that cannot be meaningfully distinguished from randomness, sufficient for use in hobby gaming. We do not guarantee, except where noted, that a given set of dice will be perfectly or nearly perfectly balanced.
It should be noted that dice crafted from materials like wood and gemstone cannot be balanced, by their very nature. That said, as long as the user cannot predict the outcome of a roll, there's no reason this should pose a problem for anyone's enjoyment of these striking, unique materials.
If you are seeking to obtain results for high-stakes purposes, or feel strongly that your number generation needs to be as close to true randomness as is possible, we recommend using software-based RNG. In any given "throw," physical items are subject to a great many internal and external variables which will not impact software-based solutions - though these, too, are rarely perfect! But for most users simply seeking the spirit of randomness, where the outcome is left to chance, including the whims of a particular die... we have a wide range of options available.
